in defense of seaweed

As our blog's resident marine biologist, I must pipe in about my love of seaweed. Going to college in Maine, we'd be on the rocky coast at 5am, measuring the grow of big stalks of kelp we had taped off the month before.

During the Victorian-era, pressing botanticals and seaweed was a favorite activity. We even did it the old-fashioned way in a marine biology class I took in college. The use of botanical and nature prints is a big trend in home decor nowadays. I wish I'd saved those specimens....
